Swans fall at semi-final hurdle in FA Cup
Swansea Town’s dreams of going to Wembley for the FA Cup final were dashed by Preston North End on Saturday, 14 March, 1964. Despite taking the lead with a goal a minute before half-time from Jim McLaughlin the Swans fell to second half goals from Alex Dawson and Tony Singleton as they were beaten 2-1. West Ham United beat Manchester United 3-1 in the other semi-final and then beat Preston 3-2 in the final
