England beaten for the first time

An unusual try from Buller Stadden, who bounced the ball to himself at a line-out in Dewsbury, was enough to earn the Welsh rugby team their first win over arch-rivals England on Saturday, 15 February, 1890. It came nine years on from the first encounter in Blackheath and was the sixth meeting between the two nations.
