Welsh links to British Olympic hockey gold
When the British men’s hockey team beat West Germany 3-1 to win the gold medal at the Olympic Games in Seoul on 1 October, 1988, the team included Newport-born Robert Clift. One of the masterminds behind the success was the former Wales coach Roger Self, who was part of the management team.
