Woosie wins European Open
Ian Woosnam won the Panasonic European Open on Sunday, 11 September, 1988, at Sunningdale Golf Club. He became the first Welsh winner of the event and was followed by Phil Price (K Club, 2003) and Stephen Dodd (K Club, 2006). Woosie ended on -20 to beat Nick Faldo by three strokes. He finished as the runner-up in 1990 and 2001.
