Wonderkid Lewis goes through the card

Rob Cole

Lewis Jones became the first British & Irish Lions player to fly when he joined the 1950 tour part in New Zealand in 1950 as a replacement. And the teenage full back also became the first Lion to go through the scoring card in an international when he scored a try, drop goal and kicked two conversions and two penalties in the 19-6 win over the Australia at The Gabba, in Brisbane, on Saturday, 19 August, 1950. The other points came from a try by fellow Welshman Bleddyn Williams.
