Ronnie James fights for world title at Ninian Park

Swansea’s Ronnie James met American Ike Williams for the World Lightweight title at Cardiff’s Ninian Park on Wednesday, 4 September, 1946. It was Williams’ first defence of his NBA title, which he had won five months earlier in Los Angeles. Two years earlier James had beaten Eric Boon to claim the British title.
