Richards races to marathon silver in London

Tom Richards struck silver at the London Olympic Games in the Marathon on 7 August, 1948. The Pontnewynydd-born runner finished 16 seconds behind Argentinean Delfo Cabrera, coming into the Wembley Stadium arena just after him. Richards took the tape in 2 hrs, 35 mins, 07.6 sec.
