‘Marvellous Monday’

Rob Cole

Monday, 9 April, 2018, will go down in Welsh sporting history as ‘Marvellous Monday’ on the Gold Coast, a day on which Wales won three gold medals at the Commonwealth Games. The gold rush began with bowlers Dan Salmon and Marc Wyatt in the men’s pairs. Then Hollie Arnold smashed the world record with her final throw to strike gold in the F46 javelin before 27-year-old Alys Thomas shocked the swimming world by setting a Commonwealth record in the 200 metres Butterfly. What a day!
