Happy Birthday Terry Hennessey!
The former Wales defender Terry Hennessey was born on 1 September, 1942, at Llay, near Wrexham. Capped 39 times for Wales from 1962-1973, he joined Birmingham City straight from school, then spent five years at Nottingham Forest. He then became Derby County’s first £100,000 player when Brian Clough took him to the Baseball Ground in 1970. When injury forced him to retire, he coached non-League clubs in England before moving to Canada and Australia.
