Glamorgan CCC is born

Glamorgan County Cricket Club was formed on Friday, 6 July, 1888, at a meeting held at the Angel Hotel, Cardiff. The veteran Glamorganshire cricketer, Mr JTD Llewellym, convened the meeting, which was attended by members from the Cardiff, Neath, Penarth, Swansea, Merthyr, Llwwynypia and Taff Vale clubs. Glamorgan became a First Class county in 1921.
