Giggs shoots Gunners out of FA Cup

Ryan Giggs scored one of the greatest goals in FA Cup history in the last FA Cup semi-final replay when Manchester United beat Arsenal 2-1 at Villa Park on Wednesday, 14 April, 1999. The top two team in the Premiership couldn’t be separated when they met in the semi-final at Villa Park on 11 April. Their goalless draw meant a replay three days later at the same venue.The score was 1-1 in extra time after goals from David Beckham and Dennis Bergkamp and United were down to 10 men when Giggs seized on a misplaced pass from Arsenal’s Patrick Vieira and scored one of the FA Cup’s most famous goals.
