European and British record for our Colin

Rob Cole

Colin Jackson can the Americans plenty to think about ahead of the Barcelona Olympic Games as he clocked a European and British high hurdles record at Crystal Palace on 10 July, 1992. The Welsh wizard stripped two one/hundredths of a second off his own European best as he won the race in 13.06 sec. Trailing in his wake were not only the best of British, but also the American quartet of Tony Dees, Arthur Blake, Jack Pierce as well as world champion Greg Foster. Injury scuppered his chances of improving on his silver medal in 1988 and he finished seventh in Spain in 13.46 sec.
