An indoor FA Cup Final in Cardiff
History was made on 17 May, 2003, when the 122nd FA Cup final, the world’s oldest domestic football cup competition, was played under a roof for the first time. It was the third year the Millennium Stadium had hosted the final and, due to bad weather, it was agreed that the game would be played with the roof closed. A crowd of 73,726 saw Arsenal beat Southampton 1-0 with a first-half goal from Robert Pires.
