Erskine adds Commonweath heavyweight crown to his collection
Joe Erskine beat Henry Cooper for the second time in his career to successfully defend his British heavyweight title and add the Commonwealth belt to his collection with a points win over 15 rounds at Harringay Stadium on Tuesday, 17 September, 1957. The two boxers would go on to fight three more times for the two titles, with Cooper coming out on top in all of them.
