Simon Jones followed in the footsteps of his father, Jeff, in playing for Glamorgan and England as a fast bowler. He was also inducted into the Welsh Sports Hall of Fame ‘Roll of Honour’ with his father in 2015. The first of his 18 Tests came against India at Lord’s in 2002 and he took 59 wickets. His greatest moment came in the 2005 Ashes series when his reverse swing played a major part in beating the Aussies. He was awarded the MBE in the 2006 New Year’s Honours List, and in April that year he was named as one of the Wisden Cricketers of the Year.
A full biography of Simon Jones will appear soon.
