The WSHOF Roll of Honour Citation
“Induction to the Welsh Sports Hall of Fame is reserved for those Welsh women and men, whose exceptional achievements over the course of their careers in any theatre of sport, have enhanced Wales as a Nation and brought honour to themselves and our Country.”

The WSHoF is a Registered Charity with a President (Lynn Davies CBE), a Chair (Prof Laura McAllister CBE) and a number of Board members. Its Board of Trustees is an impartial group of individuals with broad and deep sporting knowledge and experience. The Trustees accept suggestions from the public and the national governing bodies of sport for consideration for induction into the Hall of Fame. They discuss all candidates fully before deciding whether each meets the criteria for induction. There is no hierarchy as to timing for induction to the Hall of Fame as induction of individuals deemed worthy works around significant sporting events, the themes of the annual gala dinner, and individual availability.Only sportspeople who have retired are inducted into the WSHOF.

The Hall of Fame exhibition has been on permanent display at the Sports Council for Wales, South Glamorgan County Council, the Museum of Welsh Life and now Principality Stadium, Cardiff.

The committee of trustees is chaired by Prof Laura McAllister, who took over from the former First Minister, Rhodri Morgan, in 2018. Roll of Honour inductee Lynn Davies was appointed as the first President of the WSHoF in 2018.
